Rake In The Dough Being a Pizza Delivery Driver

Being a pizza delivery driver solves the problem that most people run into when looking for a second job. The problem is always,"Where do I get a second job that pays more than minimum wage?" This idea solves this issue.

pizza deliveryI have personally worked as a pizza delivery driver for a year and a half through college and I did quit well. On an average night I would make around $30-$40 in tips and got paid an hourly wage on top of that. My average hourly rate was about $12/hour with tips and pay combined. Plus I received reimbursement for all of my gas expense.

The best companies to work for are Domino's or Pizza Hut because they are much larger and have a lot more business than small mom and pops businesses. Also, they generally have a much smaller delivery area than most small pizza places because they have more locations . Stick with the big boys and you will save more gas and get more tips!

One nice thing about these jobs is that you can work several different shifts and work as much as five or six days a week or just a day or two a week. It is very very flexible.

The way to make the most with this idea is to always try and deliver more than one pizza per "run". There has been many of times when I would deliver to 3 different residences in one run (the time between when you leave and when you return) and would make around $10-$15 in tips in less than an hour.

One other thing, Be polite and always bring plenty of napkins, cheese, and peppers! Good Luck!
